Meet our team
Dr. Jeffrey Egler, MD
Dr. Jeffrey Egler, MD, is a double board-certified physician in Family Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine. After completing an academic medicine fellowship in Faculty Development at UCLA, Dr. Egler went on to practice the full spectrum of family medicine (including adult medicine, pediatrics, surgery, emergency and hospital medicine, and obstetrics and gynecology) and subsequently became an Assistant Clinical Professor of Family Medicine at USC.
He obtained a master’s degree in Spiritual Psychology and completed certification training with the Institute of Functional Medicine and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. He was the founding Medical Director of Parsley Health in Los Angeles and later of the Inspire Health Center, a wellness center at the Adventist Health corporate headquarters. He most recently had been practicing Longevity Medicine, the ultimate culmination of these arts and sciences, as the Medical Director of Next Health in Los Angeles.
Dr. Karen Mann, MD
Dr. Karen Mann brings 12 years of medical experience and deep women’s health expertise to Noom. She earned her MD from The George Washington University, completed her OB/GYN residency at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center, and is certified through the North American Menopause Society. Dr. Mann is also certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine, holds a certification in Nutrition Science from the Stanford Center for Health Education, and is a certified Life Coach.
Dr. Odhett Cojocaru, MD
Dr. Odhett M. Cojocaru, MD, is a highly experienced internist based in Las Vegas, NV with over 20 years of practice in managing complex health conditions. A graduate of Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Dr. Cojocaru specializes in chronic disease management, including diabetes and is passionate about lifestyle medicine. She is dedicated to helping patients take charge of their health, providing the tools needed to prevent and reverse chronic diseases. An advocate for virtual care, Dr. Cojocaru leverages technology to enhance patient outcomes and holds medical licenses in 27 states, underscoring her commitment to accessible, high-quality care across the nation.
Dr. Ameen Masoodi, MD
Dr. Ameen Masoodi, MD, MPH, DABOM, is a family medicine physician with a master’s in public health. He is board-certified in both family medicine and obesity medicine. He has participated in a number of community-focused research projects covering topics such as health literacy, preschool obesity, and food insecurity. Dr. Masoodi currently spends his time practicing clinical medicine in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, where he primarily focuses on the treatment of chronic disease states, including obesity.
Dr. Julia Schlam Edelman, MD
Dr. Julia Schlam Edelman, MD is a gynecologist, author, and speaker specializing in menopause and women’s health. She is the author of Menopause Matters and Successful Sleep Strategies for Women, and her upcoming book The Savvy Woman’s Guide to Menopause will be published by Johns Hopkins University Press in 2025.
A Yale and Columbia graduate, Dr. Edelman completed her OB-GYN residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and has taught at Harvard and Brown. She’s a certified menopause practitioner and was named Clinician of the Year by both the Massachusetts Medical Society (2018) and The North American Menopause Society (2010). She has run a solo private practice in Southeastern Massachusetts for over 25 years.
Yalda Olcott, PharmD
Dr. Olcott holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from North Dakota State University and brings over a decade of pharmacy leadership experience, including retail pharmacy, medication therapy management (MTM), and pharmacy benefits management (PBM). Dr. Olcott’s extensive PBM experience includes utilization management, formulary development, clinical program development, and maintaining client relationships.
Most recently, Dr. Olcott held the role of VP Operations and Account Services at ClearScript. In this role, she led oversight and strategy of clinical programs, clinical services, product development, client relationships, and vendor management. At Prime Therapeutics, she held many leadership roles, was heavily involved in utilization management and medication therapy management, and maintained client relationships while delivering cost-effective solutions for employers and health plans.
Dr. Andreas Michaelides, MD
Andreas Michaelides, PhD, BCN, holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology and has spent over a decade dedicated to integrating psychological insights with the tech sector, Dr. Michaelides founded Noom’s coaching and behavioral science teams. Under his guidance, the team has authored over 50 research papers, enriching the scientific understanding of behavior change through technology. His influential contributions have garnered recognition in over 300 media features, solidifying his stature as a revered figure within both the psychological and tech domains. Beyond his role at Noom, Dr. Michaelides maintains a private practice, extending his personalized approach to individuals navigating various psychological challenges. With a commitment to leveraging his skills and experiences for the betterment of companies and communities alike, Dr. Michaelides continues to leave a lasting impact on the intersection of psychology and technology.
Karin Bilich
Karin has been working at the intersection of health communications, content, and digital technology for over 20 years. With a masters in Health Communication, her mission is driving healthy behavior change through empathy and storytelling.
Karin has been serving as Head of Content at Noom since 2021. Prior to that, she led the content team at Understood – a nonprofit focused on improving life outcomes for kids with learning and thinking differences. She also currently teaches courses in the Health Sciences department at City University of New York on health equity and social marketing/public health campaigns.
Kayla Reynolds
Kayla Reynolds, NASM CPT is the Director of Knowledge, Learning, & Behavior at Noom. She is a nutritionist with a Master’s degree in Human Nutrition from Columbia University. Kayla helps shape Noom’s psychological approach and content strategy. She is the creator of Noom’s Weight and Mood behavior change courses, ensuring a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to health education and behavior modification. She creates educational materials and interactive challenges that promote healthy behaviors like balanced eating, physical activity, sleep, and stress management. Kayla also spearheads innovative content experiments, including audio and game formats, and plays a role in informing the company’s nutrition philosophy.
