Need to Know More?
Q: How is my weight loss zone calculated?
A: Noom calculates your weight loss zone using the Harris-Benedict equation, which factors in the following:
- Gender
- Age
- Height
- Starting Weight
Eating at the lower end usually leads to faster weight loss (about 1–2 lbs/week), while the higher end supports a slower pace (around 0.5 lbs/week).
Q: Why does Noom recommend daily weigh-ins?
A: Daily weigh-ins help reinforce healthy habits and keep your goals top of mind. It’s about building consistency and staying connected to your progress.
Q: When should I weigh myself?
A: We suggest weighing yourself every morning, about 15–30 minutes after waking up and before eating or drinking. This helps minimize daily fluctuations and makes it easier to track trends over time.
Q: What if my weight goes up one day?
A: That’s completely normal. Small ups and downs are expected. Focus on the overall trend—not the day-to-day shifts.
