Connecting Devices and Syncing Data with Noom (iOS)

Overview

A quick guide to help you connect Noom to apps like Apple Health, iHealth, Fitbit, and more — plus tips for syncing data and switching devices.

What to Know

  • For the most accurate syncing, complete these steps on your iPhone, not an iPad or another device.
  • Using Noom on multiple devices can disconnect the Health app and stop your steps from syncing. We recommend uninstalling Noom from any other devices before getting started.
  • We can only transfer data between the same platform (iOS → iOS or Android → Android).

What to Do

Connecting Noom to Apple Health or Apple Watch

Follow these steps from your iPhone (not your iPad):

  1. Open the Noom app > Profile icon (left corner) > Settings
  2. Scroll down to Apps & Devices > Tap Manage Apple Health > Tap Turn On All
  3. Go back to Apps & Devices > Tap Choose Steps Data Source > Toggle on Health app Steps
  4. Ensure you have Motion & Fitness is enabled in iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security
  5. Select Motion & Fitness and make sure Fitness Tracking is toggled On and that Noom below it is also set to On.
  6. Open the Health app > Profile icon > Privacy > Select Apps and Services > Select Noom
  1. Tap Turn On All Connecting Noom to iHealth on iOS:
    • Open the Noom app > Profile icon (left corner) > Settings
    • Scroll down to Apps & Devices section > Connect Additional Devices
    • Tap Okay! on the Quick Tip pop-up window to proceed to the next screen.
    • Tap Connect next to iHealth
    • Sign in to your iHealth account
    • Approve all permissions and tap Link
    • You’ll see a confirmation message at the top of the screen, and ‘Connected’ will appear next to iHealth in the list of apps.

Using Noom Across Devices

⚠️ Note: For the best experience, use Noom on just one device. We recommend deleting the app from any additional devices to avoid syncing issues or potential data loss.

  • Noom does not support syncing data across devices.

To avoid syncing issues or data loss, use Noom on a single device. Switching between devices or platforms (iOS ↔ Android) can cause problems we can’t fix, including complete data loss.

What to Do:

  1. Download the Noom app on your new device.
  2. Tap Log In on the home screen.
  3. Use the same login method you used on your previous device.
  4. Resume your journey where you left off.
  5. Delete Noom from any additional or secondary devices to avoid syncing issues.

Need to Know More?

Q: Can I use Noom on my iPad?
A:
You can, but functionality is limited (for example, no internal motion sensor for steps). Using both your iPhone and iPad may break Health app syncing.

Q: Can I track other health data like food or nutrients through the Health app?
A:
No. Noom only reads Active Energy, Dietary Energy, Weight, and Steps from Apple Health. This means that any other data (food, nutrients, etc.) won’t be synced between Noom and the Health app.

Q: My steps aren’t syncing. What should I do?
A:
Double-check your selected step data source in Noom. If it’s set to Health App Steps and still not syncing, try toggling to Noom Pedometer and back. Make sure permissions and Fitness Tracking are on.
