Trouble Syncing Fitbit or Steps to Noom (iOS)

Overview

If your Fitbit or step tracker is set up but steps aren’t showing in the Noom app, try these steps to disconnect, reconnect, and resync your device.

What to Know

  • Noom reads steps from your fitness tracker’s cloud account, not the tracker itself.
  • All required permissions must be enabled for syncing to work.
  • Syncing may take up to an hour due to delays from third-party cloud servers.

What to Do

If you’re using Fitbit:

  1. Open the Noom app and tap your profile picture in the top left.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Scroll to Apps & Devices and tap Connect Other Devices.
  4. Tap Disconnect next to Fitbit.
  5. Open your Fitbit account (via fitbit.com or the Fitbit app).
  6. Search for Noom Coach and tap Revoke Access.
  7. Return to the Noom app to reconnect:
    • Tap Settings > Connect Other Devices > Connect next to Fitbit
    • Tap Allow All—you must select all three options
    • Tap Allow
  8. After reconnecting, return to Choose steps data source, select Fitbit, and allow time for the first sync.

If you’re using another step tracker:

  1. Open the Noom app and tap your profile picture in the top left.
  2. Tap Settings > Connect Other Devices.
  3. Tap Disconnect next to your fitness tracker.
  4. Tap Connect, then log in to your tracker’s account.
  5. Enable all requested permissions.
  6. When prompted, tap Yes to confirm the device connection.
  7. Go back to Settings > Choose Steps Data Source, and select your pedometer.
